Job description: **This posting is for one (1) full-time temporary position ending on or before November 15, 2025**The Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) highly motivated candidate to fulfill complex support duties within the Correspondence Unit. The incumbent’s primary focus is the accurate review, redaction and release of records in response to access requests from a variety of external applicants. Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, evaluating and tracking incoming requests for EPS records from external entities. This includes determining if an applicant is entitled to the information and what records to provide.
  • Processing and releasing records from police case files in accordance with EPS policies and the FOIPP Act.
  • Explaining and interpreting policies and regulations to the public; advising on rates and types of service; and maintaining stringent turnaround times.
  • Performing general office duties including collecting and distributing mail in addition to other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic computer applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s FOIPP legislation.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and process high volumes of information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong keyboarding, reading, and comprehension abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Applicants may be tested.
  • As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work:40 hours per week, 07:00-15:30hrs, Monday to FridaySalary Range:21B, Salary Grade: 007, $23.787 – $29.534 (Hourly), $1,903.00 – $2,362.70 (Bi-Weekly), $49,667.26 – $61,666.99 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.General:
