  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in biology, environmental sciences, natural resources or related field.
  • Experience developing data management systems that integrate complex biological data (e.g. data housed in spatial and/or non spatial databases, or similar data management solutions).
  • Experience offering technical guidance pertaining to the administration and management of scientific data.
  • Experience delivering formal training on data systems utilization, offering technical support, investigating issues and enhancements, and fostering user adoption.

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills to effectively oversee and deliver data management solutions.
  • Experience reviewing, editing, and managing spatial data in GIS software.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in an environment with competing priorities.
