Job description: The Wellness Coordinator is accountable for providing support to the Ability Management and Wellness team with occupational injury management, injury and illness prevention and health promotion. The role will also be responsible for conducting office ergonomic assessments for employees with flexible work arrangements as part of the WFH program. The individual for this role is engaging and collaborative and willing to learn from the experience of the team and the employees we support. They are respectful, transparent and compassionate in their interactions with employees and colleagues. They have a passion to support the health and well-being of our employees and believe in creating safe spaces and healthy workplace culture.Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement. This a casual position with the expectation to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.What you’ll do

  • Responding to straightforward wellness-related inquiries from employees.
  • Processing W Gym orientation requests.
  • Answering employee inquiries regarding wellness reimbursements or other questions pertaining to reimbursement for medical certificates &/or FAR forms requested by operations or the Ability Management & Wellness team.
  • Sending out emails to Security requesting W Gym access.
  • Documenting communication (email, phone calls) with employees on a spreadsheet for the Ability Management Specialists to contact the employee.
  • Monitoring and responding to Wellness inbox emails and sorting them for each Ability Management Specialist.
  • Office ergonomic assessment including the ability to take an accurate history of any MSI related complaints attributed to workstation set up, discuss symptom management strategies and provide education, education and assertive linkages to community-based practitioners, benefits providers, etc. as appropriate.

What you’ll bring

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses in Kinesiology and Human Kinetics.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, first aid or health and safety.
  • Courses in, or relevant experience with, Disability Management, RTW Coordination, exercise therapy an asset.
  • Basic computer and applications experience, such as Word, Adobe, Excel, ESS, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams.

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $25.00-$30.00/hour. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.#LI-MT1 #LI-HYBRID
