Job description: Volunteer Program Liaison Worker (Part-time)Red Deer, AB, Canada Req #480Tuesday, September 17, 2024Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a part-time (20 hours/week), Volunteer Program Liaison Worker in Red Deer!Job Summary:As a Volunteer Program Liaison Worker, you will manage volunteer-led programs and service. Typical duties include:

  • Conducts volunteer management activities (i.e., promotion, recruitment, orientation/training, engagement, supervision, recognition, etc.) to support the effective delivery of programs and service for clients
  • Documents notes and updates/maintains files and records data regarding volunteers, ensuring the data is accurate and complete related to participation, training feedback, and outcomes. Ensures appropriate and confidential handling and storage of client/Agency information and documentation in accordance to Agency policies, procedures, and standards
  • Establishes and maintains respectful, collaborative working relationships with volunteers, clients, their family, key stakeholders, and community partners. Maintains sensitivity and respects volunteers and clients’ privacy, dignity, and personal, cultural and/or other beliefs
  • Completes incident reports, serious occurrence reports, and/or other assigned administrative duties in a precise and timely manner as per Agency policy and procedures
  • Attends and actively participates in scheduled meetings and committees. Supports team initiatives and helps to identify problems and suggest solutions
  • Performs other related duties as required

  • Effective group facilitation skills and ability to make presentations and facilitate workshops and meetings
  • Effective leadership and volunteer resource management skills within a diverse volunteer group who represent a wide range of faiths, beliefs, lifestyles and cultures
  • Effective time management, planning, and organizing skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and take initiative
  • Competent in working with applicable Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Competent in use of other Agency-assigned computer applications and databases
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular office hours as required to meet program and/or Agency needs. Advanced notice will be provided when possible
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required, to different offices, programs, and other sites to attend meetings, presentations, and/or training
  • Minimum of a Diploma in a human service discipline or equivalent
  • Degree in a human service discipline is considered an asset
  • Additional relevant certifications or designations considered an asset
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience related to volunteer resource management
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Satisfactory Security Check including Criminal Record Check (CRC)
