Responsibilities include supplying students with tools, repairing or replacing damaged ones, maintaining physical and digital inventories, tracking tool usage via the Snap-on Level 5 Tool Control System, and ensuring timely returns in good condition. The technician supports lab setups, assists with machining parts, and develops safety features for training aids and equipment. Additionally, they coordinate with supervisors on tool and supply procurement and ensure the necessary tools and parts are available for programs throughout the school year. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include: (Below are a few examples of skills – please add and delete as needed)

  • A Journeyperson, Red Seal in HET or another related trade is preferred.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the day-to-day job.
  • Heavy duty mechanics product knowledge and several years of mechanical experience
  • Proficiency in Level 5 TMAX software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
