The successful candidate will be trained in various areas of the Prepared Foods facility as a housekeeper. Please note that this position is physically demanding.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment. Maintaining a neat work area; daily housekeeping report of the area
• Responsible for the identification and reporting of product quality issues.
• Keeping packaging supplied with packaging materials. (Shooks,sleeves,domes, etc)
• Perform housekeeping duties throughout packaging.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 or GED required
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Knowledge of computer operations is an asset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift approximately 35-40 lbs. on a continuous basis
• Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations
• Successful completion of 90 day training period

DUTIES:

• Responsible for following all safety requirements.
• Operates all of the equipment associated with the job assigned to
• Must be capable of making minor adjustments to machines. Documentation of packaging codes.
• Responsible for following change in policy and requirements.
• Responsible for some sanitation duties
• Troubleshoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
• Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).
• Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal-setting KPIs.
• All additional duties as they become assigned.

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.” Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will be held as necessary and those selected for an interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability for the position.
