Job description: Description :School Board Liaison/Route PlannerThe School Board Liaison/Route Planner is responsible for ensuring that school runs are operating smoothly and that the driving staff, public, and school we serve receive excellent customer service. This position involves frequent day-to-day communication with these stakeholders and requires someone who has exemplary patience, organizational, and communication skills to be successful.Wage: $28.50 per hourPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor bus routes; correct or create route schedules, as required
• Distribute schedules to dispatch, drivers, and attendants upon final approval from the board
• Communicate route vacancies to appropriate departments
• Act as a liaison between schools, parents and Standard Bus Contracting to ensure inquiries and concerns are resolved in a professional and timely manner
• Attend driver meetings at the schools
• Attend board meetings, as required

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Map reading skills with a strong knowledge of the city; specifically road systems, locations of schools, and major attractions
• Class 2 driver’s license considered an asset, but not required
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

Working ConditionsThe School Board Liaison/Route Planner role is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with a regular shift from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
