Job description: Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.Position Overview:The successful candidates will synthesize a series of catalogues of the objects from the Hetherington Collection and edit digital photos of the objects. They will create digital records for each object to go with the photos, which they will then post online.Duties:

  • Assist in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation
  • Employees will synthesize catalogues of objects from the Hetherington Collection
  • Employees will edit digital photos
  • Perform data/word processing and record keeping
  • Employees will create digital records for each object
  • Employees will post the photos and digital records online
  • Perform routine clerical and administrative duties to support research activities
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completed classes in Classics or Anthropology.
  • Ability to use Excel.
  • Photo editing.

Condition(s) of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
