We are a learning organization, constantly seeking to improve how we do what we do for our learners, patients, and communities.PositionThis role entails supporting a Principal Investigator’s Primary Care Research Program. This position is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and writing skills along with a medical background. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in conducting observational studies, systematic reviews and clinical trials, expertise in grant and manuscripts writing, exceptional attention to detail and a clear ability to work independently. This position will be based primarily in the Department of Family Medicine research office at the University of Alberta.Duties
- Responsible for coordination of multiple studies, maintaining communication with various stakeholders and ensuring timelines and targets are met
- Aid with the design of studies, including conducting literature reviews and environmental scans
- Help develop project material including documents, questionnaires, packages
- Assist with the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications
- Complete reports for ethics, approval boards, funding agencies, and other stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with department members, including faculty, research staff, administrative staff, residents and students
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the health sciences or related disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and project details simultaneously
- Experience writing manuscripts and grant proposals
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Adapt quickly to changing research conditions, deadlines, and priorities
- Proficiency with various technologies, including data management software, database search engines, online communication tools, spreadsheets, and databases
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the health sciences or related disciplines
- Experience and knowledge in conducting clinical trials
- Experience with the research policies and procedures at the University of Alberta, including the roles of the Research Services Office (RSO) and Research Ethics Board (REB)
