This position is part of a training and development team that is pivotal in designing engaging digital learning experiences for over 2,000 full-time and part-time recreation staff.E-LEARNING DEVELOPMENT
- Develop and design interactive eLearning modules using Articulate Storyline 360 tailored to the training needs of over 2,000 recreation staff.
- Collaborate with program leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and create effective instructional content that supports staff development.
- Integrate adult learning principles into the eLearning design by assisting with the creation of storyboards to ensure engaging and impactful training experiences that can be review by our subject matter experts.
- Conduct quality assurance testing on eLearning modules and document issues to continuously improve eLearning modules.
- Maintain and update existing eLearning content to ensure relevance and effectiveness in training delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in eLearning and instructional design to enhance our training offerings.
DEVELOPMENT AND EDITING OF MEDIA ASSETS
- Using graphic design principles along with the City of Brampton Brand Guidelines, create customized artwork for eLearning screens that aligns with instructional goals and enhances user engagement.
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop, edit and refine media assets (video, audio, illustrative) that support instructional content, ensuring high production quality.
LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)
- Assist with running reports from the Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate effective tracking of training completions for recreation staff.
- Assist with tracking and validation of certifications
- Upload, organize, and maintain eLearning modules within the LMS, ensuring ease of access for users.
- Monitor and analyze user engagement and performance data within the LMS to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements.
AODA COMPLIANCE
- Ensure all eLearning content meets Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards, making training accessible for all.
- Implement best practices for accessible design, including proper use of colors, fonts, and alternative text for images, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
- Test eLearning modules using screen reader software to ensure an effective learning experience for staff using assistive technology.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Ensure all project files are organized in SharePoint
- Track purchase of media assets and ensure effective file management
- Work with and support the Assoc., Development and Training with the preparation and presentation of staff training as required.
- Develop specialized training resources on new initiatives and processes, including the development of electronic training resources across a variety of platforms.
CREATIVE COLLABORATION
- Work collaboratively with a creative team to develop artwork, media assets, and video production as needed for eLearning projects.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and design reviews, ensuring that all visual elements align with the training objectives and enhance the overall learning experience.
SELECTION CRITERIA:EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field: Adult Education, Graphic Design, Website Design UI/UX, Game Design, Animation, Film and Television or any other Digital Media related program or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1-3 year experience working in a digital collaborative work environment.
- 1 year experience creating eLearning training using Articulate Storyline 360 for
the purpose of corporate Learning and Development initiatives.OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required.
- Strong aptitude and competency using the Articulate 360 Storyline and other development tools in the authoring suite.
- Experience working with video/audio editing software
- Proficient at using image editing software such as Photoshop and/or Illustrator or equivalent is preferred
- Well-developed time management and organization skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel) required.
- Experience using SharePoint is an asset.
