These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.In specialised tax services at PwC, you will focus on providing tax advice and solutions to clients in complex and niche areas of taxation. This includes areas such as accounting methods, fixed-assets and research and development tax credits.Meaningful work you’ll be part ofAs an R&D Manager, you’ll work with a team of professionals to help our clients with the preparation of their tax incentive claims. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Participate in the completion of R&D tax credit claimsComplete assignments on time and within budget to meet client expectationsProvide practical solutions to optimize clients’ returns from R&D and other government incentivesAttend meetings and support clients during R&D reviewsManage Contractors completing R&D claimsLiaise with multinational teams on completion of R&D claimsAssist in managing a portfolio of clients, reporting to Senior Managers and aboveBe involved in the financial management of clientsEngage in business development activities to identify and research opportunitiesContribute to the development of your own and the team’s technical acumenDevelop strategies to solve complex technical challengesAssist in managing and delivering large projectsExperiences and skills you’ll use to solveProven experience in computer science, IT, or technical management including competencies in Software development, hardware development and IT systems Adegree or education in a STEM field or related disciplineBroad knowledge of current development technologies including web development, XML, Java, JavaScript, C#, database technologies, open source, mobile apps, and other related technologiesPrior experience with R&D tax credit program including preparing and supporting IT or software based R&D claimsStrong client-service orientation focused on achieving high quality, timely and profitable resultsExcellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilitiesCreative problem-solving skills to apply the R&D rules to client opportunities and the skill and experience needed to lead claim preparation and review engagementsPwC Canada is committed to cultivating an inclusive, hybrid work environment. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon your skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.*Please note that the salary range for this position is reflected for our British Columbia region.
