This is where you can do your best work.Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.Summary of ResponsibilitiesWe are currently looking for a energetic, hard-working Kiefel Technician to work a permanent part-time position on the Weekend Night Shift (Friday to Saturday 23:00-11:00, Saturday to Sunday 23:00-11:00) at our Alliston facility. Starting wage is $31.75/hour plus shift premium.The Kiefel Technician will take on a more technical role to manage the increased complexity of the new equipment.Employees will be assessed throughout the program and their job performance to ensure they are successfully learning the necessary skills and qualifications. In order to achieve this, we will be partnering with local educational institutions to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for operators to successfully troubleshoot, maintain and set up the equipment.Due to the nature of our business, Baxter follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which requires our employees to focus on cleanliness and contamination control. Other aspects of GMP that must be observed are no makeup or jewelry in the production areasEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate the Kiefel, SAPA, Grinder and Blender in a safe manner.Troubleshoot, set up and make equipment adjustments to produce a quality product in an efficient manner.Perform complete changeovers.Perform QA inspections and complete documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to support release of product.Transport raw materials and finished products following safe lifting guidelines and utilize lift devices and material handling equipment.Identify and implement minor equipment/ process improvements to improve safety, quality and/or cost.Visually inspect each filled bag assembly for proper fill volume, air volume, code number, expiration date, lot number, and other quality characteristics.Pick up filled bag assembly from conveyor, position bag in over wrapper spec.Complete basic Preventative Maintenance on equipment and active participation in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) teams and improvements.Job RequirementsSuccessful completion of High School diploma or GED required (Proof will be requested)Fast-paced environment, high pressureExperience doing repetitive tasksManufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environmentExcellent technical, problem solving, and mathematical skillsExperience in food or manufacturing industryDemonstrated good attendance in present position.Demonstrated good performance & good quality in present position.Strong ‘can do’ attitude, presenting a positive and optimistic approach to problem solvingFlexibility to work overtime as required.Experience in successfully trouble shooting mechanical problems.Demonstrated problem solving skillsExperience in working effectively both independently, and as part of a team.Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the jobDemonstrated ability to document data correctly per CA GPP 80.Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions.Reasonable AccommodationsBaxter is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities globally.
