Job description: This postingThis posting will be used to fill 1 term full-time position working 75 bi-weekly weekly and will also be used to fill anticipatory permanent full-time positions.It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of in the beautiful .The Yukon’s Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work.Your roleThis position delivers professional, Primary Care Paramedic Specialists skills in a clinic-like setting, primarily based out of the Whitehorse Emergency Shelter. The incumbent will differentially diagnose, create treatment/discharge plans and follow up care. This includes assessing patient conditions to formulate and initiate emergent and non-emergent interventions to provide optimal patient care. This position works independently, where there is limited medical support but will work with other health care providers to optimize patient care.

- Completion of a Primary care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic Program
- Recent experience providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transportation.
- Experience providing care to clients and patients suffering from the effects of alcoholism and other mind-altering substances.
- Recent experience in Naloxone administration and opioid education
- Experience with patient care report and incident reports
