It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of in the beautiful .Who we areCommunity Nursing Branch is responsible for the delivery of primary and public health care through health centres situated across the Yukon.Your roleThe Nursing Practice Consultant (NPC) role includes the training, on-going education and development of staff to ensure they meet or exceed the professional standards required to function in primary health care and in an expanded role capacity.This position is based in Whitehorse and is part of a skilled and dynamic team responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical training to all branch staff, and mentoring nurses, including NIC’s. This position coordinates and delivers professional development courses and provides training and education designed to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in an expanded nursing scope of practice. Additionally, the consultants identify the resources required to meet program objectives and ensure financial accountability; provide recommendations to Community Nursing management; conduct program audits and develop and deliver educational support for practice issues.

- Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
- Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs would be an asset
- Recent experience in the delivery of community health and treatment services
- Experience in delivering training workshops/courses would be an asset

- TB screening
- Security clearance with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Yukon class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent
- Current Yukon RN registration in good standing
- Current CPR, BLS – HCP
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or ITLS
- WHMIS (within one month of hire)
Job requirementsThis job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the Yukon by both ground and air
- This position lives and works in Whitehorse, Yukon and is not a fly in/fly out position.
