Job description: This postingThis posting will be used to fill 1 (one) 1-year term position working 75 hours bi-weekly and will also be used to fill anticipatory permanent full-time positions.It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of in the beautiful .The Yukon’s Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work.Your roleThis position Mobile Paramedic Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Paramedic Specialists Program within Yukon EMS. This program is based out of the Whitehorse Emergency Shelter which includes the provision of pre-hospital care. The Mobile Paramedic Specialists is a community-based paramedic that works with stakeholders in health and social services to bring expanded scope care to clients and patients. Mobile Paramedic Specialists work as solo responders to mitigate low acuity 911 responses in the City of Whitehorse and surrounding area.

  • Completion of a hospital-based or other recognized Primary care Paramedic
  • Recent experience providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transportation.
  • Recent experience in a Supervisory role that has provided supervision, performance management, and performance evaluations
