They are a leading charitable organization focused on offering help to those in need.They are seeking a Donor Relations Officer to join our dynamic Development and Communications team. You’ll be part of a tight-knit group of 7 professionals, reporting directly to the Senior Fundraising Manager, and working closely with the Marketing team.What You’ll Do
As the Donor Relations Officer, your role will sit at the intersection of fundraising, relationship development, and donor stewardship. You will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with a portfolio of mid-level donors , helping to grow their support and deepen their connection to the mission.This is a newly created role with a clear purpose:
– Enhance mid-level donor retention
– Move donors up the giving ladder
– Increase long-term revenue and donor engagementKey Responsibilities:Steward and upgrade a portfolio of ~5,600 mid-level donorsHelp implement a new mid-level giving strategy (developed in partnership with an external agency)Collaborate with Marketing leader on integrated campaigns and donor communication piecesWork with Fundraising leader to ensure stewardship touchpoints are timely, meaningful, and mission-alignedStrategically identify and develop donor relationships that may lead to major gift potentialTrack activities and donor journeys in the CRM, ensuring accurate and thoughtful follow-upParticipate in regular donor meetings, calls, emails, and occasional coffee chatsCreate or adapt marketing materials to support mid-level donor cultivationWhat Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, we hope you will:Steward 150+ mid-level donors and generate at least $250,000 in uplifted givingMaintain an 80% monthly donor retention rateIdentify and help elevate 5% of Tier 1 donors to become major gift prospectsWork cross-functionally to test, learn, and improve donor engagement strategiesYou’ll Thrive in This Role If You Are:
A relationship-builder who’s passionate about storytelling and social impactOrganized, adaptable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced teamSomeone who loves digging into donor data and figuring out what makes people tickComfortable collaborating across departments and juggling multiple prioritiesBilingual (French and English) – a must, given our donor baseFamiliar with donor lifecycle, CRM tools, and fundraising best practicesBonus points if you have:
Experience in fundraising, sales, or donor stewardship
Strong writing and communication skills
Strong at developing and maintaining relationships
