Be sure to indicate your faculty and program, your current year, expected graduation date.Hiring Unit: Teaching & Learning (Marvin Duchow Music Library)Job Title: MDML Student Library Services AssistantReports to: Head LibrarianHour of work: 12 hoursHourly Rate: $15.85Classification: AMUSE ADuration: January 12, 2025 – April 30, 2025Position Summary:Under the direction of a library staff member, the student assists with the delivery of Library services during peak periods. Duties include circulating materials of various formats, answering basic inquiries from users, preparing audio/video equipment for circulation, and contributing to the processing and organizing of library materials. Must be available on weekends. May be required to open and/or close the library and perform emergency evacuation procedures. Performs other supplementary tasks as assigned.Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:Excellent knowledge of music and music materials, preferably with some formal training. Knowledge of music score and recording formats and familiarity with audio and video equipment. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Must be user-focused and service-oriented. Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: handling, carrying and lifting of library materials. Previous library or similar experience preferred. English: spoken, read and written. French: spoken and read. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
