We recognize that our employees are the backbone of what we do and the important role they play in contributing to our success.To learn more about our company, please visit our or check out thisAbout the OpportunityWe’re looking for a motivated engineering student to join our Manufacturing Technology & Equipment (MTE) Engineering team in St. Brieux, SK! This position would begin in May 2025 for a 4 month term.The MTE Engineering team is responsible for providing engineering support for any piece of manufacturing equipment that changes the fit, form or function of a production part and to maximize the output of manufacturing equipment. The diverse range of equipment we support includes lasers, plasma cutters, presses, saws, CNC machines, robotic welders, automation and liquid & powder coating equipment.In this role, you will:
- Provide technical support of manufacturing equipment for Production including programming when required
- Develop and document standard work instructions for manufacturing equipment
- Gauge performance of manufacturing equipment, eliminate waste and suggest/implement improvements as required
- Conduct time studies to develop base times or evaluate processes
- Develop Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) for key pieces of equipment
- Work with the maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Work with equipment vendors to get external technical support and source replacement parts in a timely manner
- Design equipment or tooling to improve safety, quality, and productivity or cost issues
- Implement changes to products due to manufacturing improvements or design changes
- Actively participate in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
About YouThe following qualifications will be needed to successfully perform this role:
- Enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical or industrial focus)
- Knowledge of and interest in current manufacturing technologies
- Understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
- Strong computer skills, including experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to think critically and analytically
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing to (temporarily) relocate to St. Brieux, SK.
