Salary Range: $25.10 – $31.37 HourlyJoin Nasittuq for a unique and rewarding experience!Nasittuq (pronounced “na-see-took”) provides Operations & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS) and management for the Ellesmere Island Commercial Support Contract in Alert, Nunavut. The NWS is a joint Canada-United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites across Northern Canada, a Control Centre in North Bay, ON, and a Contract Management Office in Ottawa, ON.In January 2021, Nasittuq Corporation became an Inuit-controlled corporation, owned by Nunasi Corporation, PAIL, and ATCO Frontec.Scope:The General Labourer is responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance tasks at Logistics Support Sites (LSS), assisting with materials handling, snow removal, site upkeep, and light maintenance duties.This rotational, full-time position requires working in colder climates on a 6-week on, 6-week off schedule. All travel, board, and meals are provided.
These positions are reserved for Inuit candidates.What You’ll Do:
- Loading and unloading cargo, materials, and equipment.
- Snow removal and general site maintenance.
- Assisting other trades onsite as needed.
- Painting, fueling vehicles, and light maintenance work.
- Running errands and processing deliveries.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:Education/Certification:
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
- Previous related experience is an asset.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions (must be able to lift 50 lbs).
