We do this through maintaining internal HR systems, policies and collective agreements and providing human resources advice and support to departments and employees.The opportunity…The Labour Relations branch provides labour relations leadership and expertise for the development and administration of employee relations for the Yukon government, manages the collective bargaining processes and supports departments in employee relations matters.The Labour Relations Advisor provides advice and recommendations to departmental Human Resources staff and all levels of supervisory personnel on a broad range of challenging employee relations matters, working closely with colleagues within the Public Service Commission.The position also provides interpretation and advice on Yukon government’s two collective agreements and human resources policies as well as managing the resolution of grievances, human rights complaints and employment-related litigation.   • Degree or significant post-secondary education in Labour Relations/Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management, with a preference for labour law;
  • Considerable labour relations experience within a unionized environment, dealing with workplace/disciplinary investigations, grievances, performance management, etc.;
  • Experience in the development of labour relations policies or contributing to projects/work that have significant labour relations impacts
  • Experience implementing integrated solutions and strategies and providing advice to all levels of management; and
  • Collective bargaining experience will be considered an asset.
