Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.The RoleReporting to the sr. engineer, maintenance, in the maintenance engineering department, your knowledge of mechanical equipment and design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations in a mining environment.In this role, you will:

  • Solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment and failures.
  • Maximize equipment availability, reliability, and performance through effective problem solving and proactive maintenance practices.
  • Develop and refine asset-specific strategies to improve equipment health and to prevent or eliminate equipment failure.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel in the field to support daily maintenance activities and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical support for new or modified site equipment, process changes, and drawings.
  • Be required to compile data and prepare technical reports or coordinate technical reporting as required for regulatory submission.
  • Support site capital and expense projects ensuring project deliverables are met in the form of scope, schedule and budget.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Two to six years of relevant industry experience
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and technologies
  • Experience in a mining/milling environment
  • Computerized maintenance management system familiarity, preference for SAP experience
  • Experience with planning and scheduling activities
  • Project Management Professional (PMP Certification)
