Navigate is a partnership with Grenfell Campus and CNA Corner Brook Campus aiming to help promote entrepreneurship and help entrepreneurs start great local businesses. Navigate facilitates the launch and incubation of ventures in the early-growth stage; assists in the commercialization of new technologies; nurtures the entrepreneurial culture in Corner Brook; and promotes economic development of the regional community. Located at the Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI), the Navigate Business Incubator features a co-working space and dedicated work spaces for tenants.DUTIES
The Incubator Centre Manager is responsible for coordinating the activities of the incubator by working collaboratively with incubator tenants and clients, Grenfell Office of Engagement, business service providers, economic development entities, and the business community. Duties include overseeing the operation of the business incubator by coordinating programs and services; developing and providing business development assistance to incubator tenants and clients; providing advisory services and coaching on a range of business-related topics; organizing a network of professional advisors, guest speakers, workshops, and other opportunities for entrepreneurs to engage with industry support services; selecting and monitoring mentors to support the incubator clients; overseeing the day-to-day operation of the business incubator center, including marketing the center, recruiting clients, and assisting in screening clients; working closely with the Navigate Advisory Board; working with community stakeholders and advancing community partnerships to support regional development; evaluating and seeking potential funding sources through revenue from programming, application to funders and seeking community funding; developing and maintaining a client database, reports, and records; planning and managing budgets for programming, marketing, etc.; and performing other related duties as required.A flexible work schedule is required; evening and occasional weekend work; occasional overnight; and out-of-town travel is required.QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in the field of entrepreneurship and business counselling; completion of an Undergraduate degree in Business is required; with course work towards or completion of a Master’s degree considered an asset; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Knowledge of business management principles, budget formulation and financial management, and property management and leasing is required. Computer literacy and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents and organizations is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
