Explore beautiful landscapes and a unique fauna thriving year-round in this exceptional environment.About the RoleJoin us as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, where you’ll be a motivated individual capable of adapting to changing priorities while ensuring safe and efficient operations. Reporting to the Transportation, Roads, and Grounds Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing all vehicles and equipment for the Department of National Defense (DND), Nasittuq, and Government employee use.Requirements

  • Eligible for RELIABILITY security clearance and pre-employment medical.
  • Eligible for a valid passport for travel to CFS Alert, NU, including overnight stays in Thule, Greenland.
  • Cross-cultural adaptability and a strong team player mindset are essential.
  • Trade Certification acquired in Canada, Red Seal considered an asset.
  • Certified Heavy Equipment Mechanic Off-Road Earth Moving Equipment (421A).
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment.
  • Willingness to be qualified to operate vehicles containing hazardous materials.
  • Full Drivers License for eligibility for DND 404.

  • Competitive salary: $53.53 – $56.35 per hour.
  • 48-hour work weeks (Monday-Saturday) with opportunities for overtime.
  • Isolation Allowance: $27 a day for every day on site.
