We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar mining and general line products, based out of our Whitehorse Branch, but working on the Victoria Gold site. Some of the equipment you will be working on are large dozers, 777 Haul trucks and MD6250 Drills.You will be set up for success with dealer grade training and stocked service trucks with all the tools required.This position will work on a 14×14 rotation. • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes, site failure reports)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (Red Seal)
• Red Seal Off Road certificate required
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Proven field experience with a preference for experience in mining operations
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Previous Caterpillar mining product repair experience would be considered an asset

Notes:

• This position is based on a 14×14 continuous shift rotation based out of Whitehorse, YK
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
