Job description: One of our clients in Saskatoon, SK region is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic for their facility.Pay Rate – $47.24/hrShift – Straight days Monday to Friday – 40hr/weekKey Responsibilities:Inspect and road test Class 3 vehicles, and use computerized diagnostics to diagnose and isolate faultsPerform detailed inspections to diagnose issues in heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other large equipment.Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems, and brake systems.Rebuild and overhaul engines, ensuring they meet operational standards.Test repaired equipment for proper performance, making adjustments as necessary.Maintain accurate service records, including work orders, repair reports, and equipment logs.Manage parts inventory, including ordering and stocking necessary components for repairs.Occasionally communicate with clients to discuss repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment issues.Qualifications:Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate or Red Seal Certification.A minimum of 3 years’ experience in truck repairs or a related field is considered an advantage.Skilled in reading and interpreting diagrams, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive movements, including bending, kneeling, and climbing.Able to work in challenging conditions, such as confined spaces, cold temperatures, and exposure to strong odors or animal by-products.
