Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.The RoleReporting to the Manager, Mine Operations , you will be responsible for leading the safe and efficient operation of the Process operations team through project and production planning, scheduling, and execution. You will be looked upon to lead the Process operations team through change and improvements that align with Cameco’s strategic goals.In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Process operations team and be accountable for water treatment plant, mine dewatering, brine distribution, central control, slurry loadout, and grinding operations
  • Ensure all Process operations staff and any contractors working in Process areas are working safely and following all procedures and standards
  • Plan and implement medium to long term strategic goals for the Process operations team
  • Work closely with Metallurgists to ensure that current and long-term problems are addressed
  • Review production information to ensure all Process operations areas are operating within regulatory and metallurgical guidelines
  • Ensure production records and regular statistical reporting are accurate, and that department training requirements are kept up to date
  • Work closely with General Supervisors from other departments to ensure integration of plans across all site and corporate departments
  • Oversee maintenance requirements and ensure Operator Care Rounds and preventative maintenance is completed when scheduled
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities to enable more safe and efficient operation

Required:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • At least eight years of relevant work experience in milling or processing positions
  • Three to five years previous supervisory experience
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Organized leader with Strategic vision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Be able to work both on surface and underground
  • Class 5 Driver’s license

Recommended:

  • Familiarity with AVEVA PI platform
  • Saskatchewan Labour supervisors certificate
  • Level 1 and 2 potable water treatment and Level 1 wastewater treatment certification
