The hotel features 82 clean, comfortable, and fully appointed rooms, an indoor pool, fitness centre, business centre, 24-hour front desk, and an onsite restaurant/lounge offering room service. In Summerside, you’ll enjoy stunning ocean views, acres of green spaces, unique shopping experiences, world-class theatrical and musical performances, and more.As a General Manager, You WillThe General Manager oversees all aspects of operations at the Loyalist including, guest service standards, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, sales & marketing, team leadership, and staff development. The General Manager must demonstrate outstanding leadership, managing and mentoring team members. They must be able to delegate responsibilities, organize complex projects, and establish priorities consistent with Murphy Hospitality Group objectives.The Duties

  • Oversee the successful running of the hotel, working to achieve the financial, marketing, and human resource goals and objectives as set by Murphy Hospitality Group
  • Oversee the Reservations Desk, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping and Maintenance
  • Direct and control the activities of the front office, reservations, and guest services to ensure adherence to the standards, policies, and procedures of the hotel
  • Continuously set up the team to provide 100% guest satisfaction
  • Work with the Director of Hotel Sales to develop a strong sales strategy to maximize room revenue
  • Establish relationships with guests and major corporate and government clients
  • Assist in the hiring of team members in coordination with the hiring processes of MHG
  • Display a high degree of professionalism and integrity in the day-to-day management of the hotel and administrative duties as specified
  • Ensure the quality of guest service at every touch point meets or exceeds MHG standards
  • Oversee the safety and security of the hotel; the employees, guests, vendors and the public

What You Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in guest service
  • Previous Hotel Management experience, particularly within a large property, an asset
  • Experience in leading, training, and developing team members
  • Experience with hotel operating systems and channel management software an asset
  • Strong Financial Management knowledge and experience.
