Stewardship: We responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us.Position Purpose Summary:This position provides support to the general operation of Beaver Creek Camp, mainly in the areas of housekeeping and Kitchen (and possible assistance with maintenance elements).This is a regular part time position at 24 hours per week.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:HousekeepingAssist with general housekeeping duties of the camp which may include, but are not limited to:
- Regular facility cleaning and restocking of supplies (mainly all public buildings and washrooms).
- Cleaning and preparation of guest suites before and after guest usage.
- Occasional cleaning of private cottages as requested (DC, DYS, Cryderman)
- Ensure janitor’s supply room is clean, organized and fully stocked. Notify Camp Manager when supplies need to be ordered. Assist with receiving janitorial order supplies and stocking shelves.
- Assist with general housekeeping projects as directed by the Camp Manager/Divisional Youth Secretary.
- Garbage collection and removal.
- Report any issues requiring maintenance to Camp Manager
Kitchen CleaningAssist with the general operations of the kitchen and dining hall (when directed) which may include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance with simple food/meal preparation
- Dining Hall Set-up of tables and chairs
- Tidying Food Services Bar and Coffee/Tea Tables
- Dishwashing
- Sweeping/Mopping of all floors
- General Cleaning
General MaintenanceAssist with general maintenance duties of the camp which may include, but are not limited to:
- Groundskeeping (mowing, shrub/tree trimming, garden upkeep, maintenance/improvements to walking trails, etc.).
- Minor repairs to buildings and equipment (directed and supervised by the Camp Manager/Divisional Youth Secretary).
- Assist with general maintenance projects as directed by the Camp Manager/Divisional Youth Secretary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:*NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation.Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Completed Grade 9 education.
- Review of Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required (no more than 3 years old). Employment is contingent upon results that are deemed non-threatening to the vulnerable sector.
- Clearance through internal Salvation Army child & youth abuse prevention protocols.
- Valid food safe certification
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months general experience.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Praesidium Abuse Prevention Training and required Health and Safety training
