As a Fire Alarm Electrician, you will be responsible for the preventative and recurring maintenance of the fire alarm systems at CFS Alert. Reporting to the Facilities Management Supervisor, your key duties include:

  • Repairing electrical systems and installing replacements of items already in place.
  • Responding immediately to system failures and ensuring continued repair efforts until systems are operational.
  • Providing restorative services for all electrical systems, including supporting base operations and services when requested by DND.
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on kitchen appliances, small kitchen appliances, and other small appliances as assigned.
  • Reviewing and providing input into electrical system enhancements and maintenance.
  • Assisting other trades as required and contributing to positive relations between the company and the client.
  • Completing all required logs, documentation, and reports accurately and within time requirements.
  • Participating in safety meetings, reading safety documents, and reporting all accidents, incidents, and safety concerns.
  • Performing other duties/projects as assigned to support the overall program and mission of Nasittuq.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for RELIABILITY security clearance and pre-employment medical.
  • Eligible for a valid passport for travel to CFS Alert, NU, including overnight stays in Thule, Greenland.
  • Cross-cultural adaptability and a strong team player mindset are essential.
  • Certified Red Seal Electrician or Journey Person with significant experience in fire alarm systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DND 404.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, work in a changing environment, and possess a sense of urgency.

  • Fly-In Fly-Out schedule with 8×8 rotations (8 weeks on-site, 8 weeks off-site).
  • Travel from home to and from the site is paid from any location in Canada.
  • Competitive salary rate: $61.26 – $64.49 per hour.
  • 40-hour work weeks (Monday-Saturday) with some opportunities for overtime.
  • $27 a day in Isolation Allowance for every day on site.
