We are home to over 14,000 faculty and staff, more than 40,000 students and a growing community of 300,000 alumni worldwide.Your work will have a meaningful influence on a fascinating cross-section of people – from our students and community members, to our renowned researchers and innovators, making discoveries and generating solutions that make the world healthier, safer, stronger and more just. .Working for the Mike Petryk School of DentistryThe Mike Petryk School of Dentistry has one accredited certificate program in Dental Assisting totaling 52 students, two undergraduate programs, Dentistry and Dental Hygiene totaling 326 students, six graduate programs (three clinical and three non-clinical) with over 60 students, and two postgraduate programs with 6 residents.There are approximately 24 Faculty, 42 Academic Teaching Staff (ATS), and 230 Excluded Academic staff, that are supported by the Clinical Services Team.The OHC Clinical Programs operate out of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, which includes 134 operatories, an in-house prosthodontics and orthodontics laboratory, an industrial sterilization unit, and two dispensaries for distribution of equipment and instrumentation and supplies. The School is the service provider in three Dental Outreach Clinics located in La Crete, High Level and McLennan, Alberta.Additionally, the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry provides CDE programs for dental health professionals that are primarily clinically based. The administrative and clinical services within CDE will report under the Manager, Clinical Services.PositionReporting to the Strategic Execution and Change Manager, the Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing multiple regularly occurring, strategic and ad hoc events throughout the year, as well as marketing and internal engagement activities within the School of Dentistry. The Engagement Coordinator is a champion for enhancing program registrations and engaging the School of Dentistry community.This position is responsible for planning and execution of a number of internal events throughout the year including staff and faculty engagement events and strategic planning retreats. Additionally, they will serve as the point of contact for the School of Dentistry websites (public and intranet) and support marketing activities in the Continuing Dental Education division.Duties

  • Works with Marketing and Operations Support Coordinator and Program Coordinators to assist in creating and producing marketing and promotional materials that help communicate CDE service offerings and ensure program deliverables are met.
  • Works with Strategic Execution and Change Manager to develop event plans including purpose, goals/ objectives, logistics, tone, program (speakers, entertainment, etc.), budget, stakeholders and partners.
  • Ensures event objectives align with the goals and objectives of the School of Dentistry and comply with event planning policies and procedures.
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining digital marketing/social media channels and tactics including website and registration systems (i.e., Shopify) to ensure positive gains (both measurable and otherwise).
  • Coordinates, designs and maintains the school’s intranet and public website including updating, writing and posting content.
  • Monitors site performance and utilization activities to optimize usability and appeal.
  • Works with various School of Dentistry stakeholders to identify opportunities to create, host and distribute interactive content for the purposes of increasing employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of marketing, public relations and/or event management diploma and experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience that includes event or project planning and implementation and stakeholder engagement, preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Ability and experience working within a fast-paced, demanding environment with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects at the same
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in multiple software programs (Microsoft Suite, Gmail, Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, email marketing software and website management systems)
  • Proficiency in running webinars and virtual meetings
  • Experience with website development or maintenance (Cascade level 1 & 2)
  • Demonstrated skills in data visualization, interpretation, presentation, and reporting (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of creating equitable, diverse, and inclusive practices preferred
  • Adaptable, agile and technologically savvy; advanced capability with MS Office suite, Google Applications and PeopleSoft systems preferred
