If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!Standard Bus Contracting is currently seeking two detail-oriented and experienced Dispatchers to join our team. You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating our team of professional drivers, ensuring the smooth operation of daily bus and charter services, and providing tactful and professional telephone and radio assistance.Shifts available are Monday through Friday:
- Dispatching from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm and then driving a designated PM school bus route
- Driving a designated AM school bus route and then dispatching from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Dispatch and monitor vehicle and operator on-road assignments, written schedules, customer requests, and emergency situations
- Prepare daily vehicle assignments and coordinate with maintenance and operations staff
- Communicate effectively, providing clear and concise information using various communication devices, including radio and computer-aided dispatching equipment
- Update and maintain various computer applications and databases, ensuring accuracy of drivers, bookings, and route information
- Quote and schedule open charters, ensuring all client needs are met
- Drive a designated school bus route
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Class 2 license preferred; willingness to obtain and train for license upgrade
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in dispatching, customer service, or transportation operations preferred
- Experience with electronic information handling technology, such as dispatch software applications is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed manner
- Expertise in organizational planning, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of Whitehorse and the surrounding area
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Wage: $25.50 per hour
