Job description: This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.The Department of Energy, Mines & Resources (EMR), in keeping with its mandate to responsibly manage and support the sustainable development of Yukon’s energy and natural resources, is seeking a strategically minded leader for the Compliance, Monitoring & Inspections Branch. This director is responsible for inspection, compliance monitoring, enforcement and client support services.As an integral part of the departmental senior management team, the Director, Compliance, Monitoring & Inspections leads the planning, development and management of effective and integrated client support and inspection services for the department. This position is responsible for delivering EMR client services at the district level, as well as monitoring and enforcement of land, forestry and mining regulatory requirements. - University degree in a relevant field (such as Resource Management, Environmental Sciences or Public Administration);
- Experience implementing government programs and policies;
- Building partnerships and working collaboratively with other levels of government, including First Nations;
- Recent and significant experience in senior management, having managed both significant financial and human resources; and
- Experience in providing advice and recommendations on complex issues to senior leadership.
- Experience in enforcement and/or change management would be considered an asset.
