The branch maintains strong relationships between the Government of Yukon, municipalities, the Association of Yukon Communities, local advisory councils, and unincorporated communities. It oversees municipal funding and supports infrastructure planning to ensure the provision of essential community services, such as clean drinking water, transportation systems, waste management, and climate-resilient infrastructure. The branch collaborates with First Nation governments to develop integrated solutions to local services.About the Position:The Community Affairs Branch oversees the Yukon Municipal Act and works to foster collaborative relationships between communities and the Government of Yukon. The Director works closely with senior management in Yukon municipalities and government departments, providing advice on a range of financial, governance, and strategic matters affecting Yukon communities; with outcomes focused on effective local governance and sustainable local services. This role leads integrated solutions to local challenges.   • Considerable experience managing complex programs with varying and broad mandates.

  • Significant experience leading, managing and developing staff including performance and talent management.
