Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Dietitian reports to the Health Services Lead of Primary Health Care and works within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team to provide advanced clinical skills and techniques to the population of patients served by the Collaborative Family Practices within Pictou County. The Dietitian acts as a resource in the area of nutritional assessment, education and counseling in both one on one and group settings. The Dietitian is responsible for accessing, consulting and mobilizing available interdisciplinary and community resources to facilitate client goal attainment.Travel will be required and as such access to reliable transportation is required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science with major in Food and Nutrition is required.
  • Dietetic internship required.
  • Member or eligible for membership in Nova Scotia Dietetic Association (NSDA) is required.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidence-based methods and practices in the field of nutrition, with an emphasis on the prevention and management of chronic disease.
  • Strong understanding of health promotion, population health and the determinants of health theory and practice would be an asset
  • Experience with or willingness to learn group facilitation, adult education and motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn health coaching techniques and interventions.
  • Experience in using an EMR an asset.
  • Demonstrated competence in electronic communication, excellence in Microsoft Office products, including access and word required.
