Work Hours: Temporary Full Time; 40 hours/week; June 25-August 30, 2025
Wage: $18.50 – $20.01 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: June 25, 2025*Must be available to attend SCRA Training on May 31, 2025
Location: Wasaga Beach, ONJob Description The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking six (6) creative, energetic and self-motivated team players to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Oakview Woods Summer Day Camp Counsellors.General Responsibilities:Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, Camp Counsellors will work as part of a team who are responsible for the creation, implementation and delivery of programs to campers 4 to 10 years of age. Camp Counsellors will engage with the campers in a variety of recreation programs by maintaining staff to camper ratios ensuring safety. The successful candidate(s) will be required to communicate effectively with campers, parents, the community and Town staff.Qualifications:

• Minimum age 16;
• High school diploma and previous leadership training preferred;
• Previous related job experience working with children 0 to 12 years of age;
• Coaching experience in sport and certifications through NCCP or other sport specific accreditation including High Five, considered an asset;
• Experience facilitating children’s activities, such as: sports, drama, crafts and musical programs, events or tournaments considered an asset;
• Strong interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills required;
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and promote town of Wasaga beach recreation programs;
• Effective problem solving skills required;
• An acceptable and current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference check is required for individuals 18+ years of age;
• Standard First Aid CPR – C with AED certification required;
• General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
• Ability to lead, work with and contribute positively to a service oriented team;
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
• Available to attend SCRA Training on May 31, 2025
