• Degree in natural sciences discipline and related field (Biology, Wildlife Management, Environmental Sciences etc.).
• Experience using a variety of statistical and spatial analytical approaches for terrestrial habitat modelling and landscape dynamics (using GIS, R, or equivalent).
• Experience with cumulative effects monitoring, management, or assessment.
• Experience planning and implementing safe and effective field research in remote settings in the role of a supervisor/mentor.
• Experience in providing technical advice on ecological issues and in reviewing, preparing, and communicating technical documents and reports to a variety of audiences (e.g., managers, First Nation governments, Inuvialuit, boards, and renewable resources councils).
• Experience in environmental assessment is an asset.
• Experience engaging and collaborating with First Nations, public bodies, other government agencies, NGO’s, stakeholders, etc. (through working groups, joint projects, etc.) is an asset.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and SuitabilityTo support key objectives and operational needs of this position, candidates will be assessed on the following:

• Experience developing and promoting partnerships with officials from all levels of government, First Nations representatives, and stakeholders to inform cumulative effects issues.
• Communication skills to document, present, and connect with various audiences (e.g. boards and councils, government agencies, etc.).
• Problem solving including excellent analytical and judgement skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and contribute positively to team operations
• Ability to lead, develop and implement cumulative effects programs and plans.
