It provides a focus for research in the field at the University of Winnipeg, facilitates the development and management of collaborative national and international research projects, hosts visiting speakers and researchers, and maintains links with other research centres in children’s studies internationally. CRYTC is also the administrative home of the International Research Society for Children’s Literature (IRSCL), an international scholarly organization established to support and promote research in the field of children’s literature.The CRYTC Office Assistant is a part-time (5-10 hours per week) continuing position tasked with supporting the work of CRYTC affiliated researchers, the IRSCL, and the academic journal, International Research in Children’s Literature.Responsibilities:
- Producing and issuing membership receipts.
- Producing membership reports for the CRYTC Research Coordinator.
- Maintaining records of award and travel grant applications.
- Communicating with IRSCL members, including general troubleshooting, membership processes, membership status, and renewal communications.
- Posting blogs for IRSCL News (CFPs, conferences, grants, etc.).
- Posting book reviews.
- Updating and uploading general IRSCL website content/membership directory and forms.
- Maintaining membership database and files.
- Maintaining listserv.
- Producing and maintaining IRCL journal subscription spreadsheets.
- Other CRYTC-related office work as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school completion or equivalent program of studies with office skills training.
- No experience is necessary as on-the-job training is provided.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in handling a variety of clerical duties.
- Basic keyboard skills with the ability to meet test standards in typing of 35 w.p.m.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.Condition(s) of Employment:
