Job description: Permanent Full-timePosting Number: PC-25-20Job Type: Permanent Full-time, UnionSalary Range: $58,949.80 to $70,597.80 per yearLocation: Barrie, ON – Onsite (see below for more details)Posted: Friday, April 25, 2025Application Deadline: Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:59 pmThe OpportunityThe Legislative and Court Services Department is comprised of three branches; Legislative Services (which includes Council Secretariat, Corporate Mail and Print Services, Vital Statistics and Access and Privacy Services), Court Services (which is responsible for the administration of justice within two court service areas in compliance with the Provincial Offences Act, the Memorandum of Understanding and Inter-municipal Service Agreements) and Enforcement Services which is responsible for administering and enforcing several municipal by-laws including but not limited to regulations related to the parking of vehicles, pet controls, property maintenance, business licensing, and sign placement).Under the general guidance and direction of the Supervisor(s) of Court Services, the Court Administration Clerk (CAC) is responsible to provide court administration services in the Provincial Offences Court in accordance with provincial legislation, directives, and operational guidelines. Specifically, this position receives inquiries, requests and/or complaints through various channels of communication, processes charging documents, sets trial dates, processes fine payments, and ensures court records are updated accurately in the Provincial Computer System. The position is also responsible to assist the Appeal Court in the appeal process for matters tried within the Provincial Offences Court as well as transfers e-files to third-party collection agencies. Experience

  • One (1) year of experience performing duties related to the major responsibilities of the position
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service and cash handling office environment

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • General knowledge of the following legislation, regulations, or requirements: Statutes applicable to court administration including but not limited to Provincial Offences Act, Highway Traffic Act, Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act, and the Courts of Justice Act.
  • Demonstrated Ability to:

  • Intermediate skills include: Customer Service; Interpersonal; Organizational; Verbal and Written Communication
  • Intermediate computer literacy using the following systems and software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Yearly Salary: $58,949.80 to $70,597.80
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $32.39 to $38.79
