Position SummaryAre you passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and creating impactful community partnerships? Join us as our new Coordinator, Engineering Outreach!Reporting to the Faculty Administrator, the Coordinator, Engineering Outreach oversees the development and execution of Engineering outreach. The position will oversee development, planning, and execution of Faculty recruitment events and Faculty involvement in University Events, and organizes our various youth clubs and camps in Regina and across Saskatchewan. The Coordinator, Engineering Outreach will work closely various staff in the Faculty, ensuring strategic alignment with the both short term and long term goals of both the Faculty and the University.What You’ll do:

  • Develop and execute youth programming on campus and in communities across Saskatchewan;
  • Manage outreach events and support existing programs.
  • Work to build community partnerships with various organizations to promote programming
  • Host recruitment events, and support existing youth programs.
  • Recruiting mentors to participate in various recruitment programs for youth, undergraduate, and graduate students. Travel within and outside of province to partners, representing the Faculty and the University across the province.
  • Be responsible for outreach budget management, fundraising and grant application preparation.
  • Travel within and outside of province to partners, representing the Faculty and the University across the province
  • Continuously work towards identifying barriers of access and work towards overcoming them to provide equitable access for all youth in STEM.

Position RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring to this Position:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Engineering, Science or other related subjects;
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience either at the University and/or in youth related program development;
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:

  • Scientific or engineering background to develop programming and activities for youth – ensure safety and age-appropriateness of activities;
  • Judgement and decisiveness to handle the wide range of planning, logistical, human resources and supervisory matters;
  • Previous supervisory experience to hire, train, direct and manage staff;
  • Experience exercising discretion when working with sensitive and confidential information, and be able to successfully manage conflict;
  • Experience with budget management;
  • Direct experience working in complex databases such as Microsoft Excel, Banner and FAST, as well as social media and website development; Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
  • Ability to manage time, deadlines, and work independently;
  • Be creative, resourceful, innovative, engaging and exhibit the ability to exercise leadership and function in a team-oriented environment;
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills to engage audiences and foster strong working relationships with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders;
  • Experience working with communities, including but not limited to: socio-economic status, race, gender, religion, immigration status, physical location, education etc; and,
  • Strong foundation in inclusion and anti-racism.

Physical DemandsSome lifting of camp materials and travel required.
Pay Grade APT 4
Salary Range $64,796 – $87,436
Status Permanent
Work HoursMonday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm with some flexible hours working evenings or weekends as needed. Some travel required.
