Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Hiring Unit: School of Continuing Studies, Global & Strategic CommunicationJob Title: Conversation partner for French@WorkPeriod: September 9, 2024 to June 16, 2025 (5 terms of 6 weeks)Number of positions: 5Hourly rate: $24/hourLocation: Online – Conversation courses are offered remotelyNumber of hours: up to 7 hours per week over possibly 30 weeksConversation partner for French@WorkPrepare by consulting documents (texts, videos, vocabulary lists, etc.) prior to the session.Make students practice what they studied in class with their teacher (communication, grammar/vocab, etc.)Provide corrective feedback to students about grammar, syntax, vocabulary, pronunciation.Closely monitor students’ attendance using the designated tool so that the attendance data can be consulted by/communicated to the coordinator and the instructor.Work collaboratively with the program coordinator and the group’s instructor by providing feedback on the material, the students’ progress, attendance, etc.Plan when the sessions will be held and communicate information to students.McGill University is committed to equity and diversity within its community and values academic rigour and excellence.
