Job description: Job Description:We are looking for a Controller (Plant) to join our team in West Toronto area, . In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing our accounting operations and office activities with a particular focus on the manufacturing industry.Your role will be instrumental in managing various accounting functions, streamlining processes, and maintaining effective communication across the team.Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Inventory Accounting, Costing and Monthly Close Procedures
  • Supervising the preparation of payroll and ensuring timely submission of all regulatory filings
  • Conducting daily banking activities and managing foreign currency purchases
  • Reviewing and implementing recommendations to improve current processes
  • Preparing and presenting financial statements, variance analysis, and reporting packages
  • Preparing audit files and liaising with external auditors
  • Managing staff and human resource functions effectively
  • Overseeing office environment including contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Performing other financial tasks to ensure smooth running of office operations and taking on additional projects as requested by the Group CFO

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Activity Based Costing (ABC) is a key requirement for this role.
  • Applicants must possess strong leadership qualities as the role involves overseeing the financial operations of the plant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the role involves coordinating with various departments.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and systems is required.
  • Candidates should have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is preferred.( close to completion )
  • Applicants should have a strong ethical code and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven experience in financial risk management is required.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential for this role.
