The position supports excellence and scholarly teaching in clinical practicum and lab education as well as pregrad advising. The position provides coaching for clinical teachers, lab teachers and pregrad advisors in their work with nursing and personal support worker students in the both the clinical practice and lab settings. The incumbent fosters the retention of these teachers and facilitates the student-teacher – placement fit. Working with the Associate Dean, and Operations Manager – Nursing and PSW Cluster the incumbent assigns these employees to clinical practice groups, lab groups and pregrad advisor roles in preceptored student placements. The Clinical Education Resource Manager investigates challenges/issues/complaints from placement settings, students and/or clinical and lab teachers and identifies causative factors and proactive strategies to address the issues. Implementing effective communication strategies with the faculty while linking full time faculty and clinical teachers is a key part of the role. Working with the Associate Dean – Nursing and PSW Cluster, and the full time Clinical Education Resource Manager, the incumbent will help in developing and supporting partnerships with our external partners, and projects related to clinical education as assigned.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education:
- The successful candidate will possess a Graduate Degree in Nursing and will be registered with the Ontario College of Nursing.
Experience:
- The incumbent will have a minimum of 5-years professional experience. Experience in multiple experiential learning settings and various organizational environments.
- Experience in post-secondary education in the clinical practice environment.
- Must have access to a vehicle to travel to multiple work integrated learning sites
- Should possess exemplary nursing skills, excellent communication skills, interview skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills, performance review skills, and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced computer skills and Microsoft Office skills.
