We are currently seeking an individual to assume the demanding and fulfilling position of Casual Part-time Indoor Facilities Maintainer.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Facilities Manager, and under the direct supervision of the Indoor Facilities Supervisor and Assistant Indoor Facilities Supervisor the position performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of the Multiplex, Yellowknife Community Arena, Somba K’e Civic Center, the Lakeview Cemetery, City Hall, Wildcat Café, Parks Shop, meeting rooms, Fieldhouse, Curling Club, Heritage Sites, Monuments and all other facilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:The successful incumbent must possess a Grade 12 education, and a valid Class 5 NWT Driver’s Licence. Completion of Arena Level 1 & 2 certification and current First Aid, CPR & AED training is also required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and have previous experience working with the public. Knowledge of the use of a computer is required. Knowledge of ice making, ice maintenance, recreation facility maintenance, minor equipment, and machinery repair, and experience with trades such as plumbing and carpentry would be an asset.SALARY:The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive hourly wage of $38.40 per hour as well as 4% Vacation pay.
