Job description: Position Details: Full-time, 8 Month Term (January – August 2025), Existing Position
Salary Range: $44,500 – $55,500, based on a 35-hour work week. Starting salary will be commensurate on the candidate’s education and experience, as it relates to this position.
Location: Preference is for Edmonton, AB but other locations may be considered.
Closing Deadline: September 25, 2024 (11:59PM EDT)What You Will DoAs an intern, you will provide support to the team to deliver on projects that contribute to wetland conservation and stewardship across Canada’s boreal forest. You will also be responsible for:

  • Synthesizing emerging research and literature in a concise manner to support wetland and waterfowl conservation related projects.
  • Supporting the development of the

monthly and other knowledge mobilization activities. * Supporting field work including wetland vegetation and soil surveys and delivery of wetland training or workshops with stakeholders.

  • Participating in workshops and meetings with external partners such as industry, government, researchers, and other organizations.

This position will be based remotely from your home office, with preference for the Edmonton area. Hybrid working opportunities from our office in Edmonton, AB, may be available.Requirements

  • Successful completion of at least two years of study in an environmental field (e.g., biology, forestry). New graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Interest in wetland and waterfowl conservation with knowledge of wetland or waterfowl conservation issues and industry activities in Canada’s boreal forest considered an asset
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Detail-oriented with strong information gathering skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team or independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to maximize productivity

Assets

  • Experience writing or designing newsletters or other knowledge mobilization or communications content
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations.
