Reporting to the Facilities Manager and under the direct supervision of the Indoor Facilities Supervisor, the Assistant Indoor Facilities Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Indoor Facilities Supervisor with the maintenance and operations of the indoor facilities and the immediate surrounding area of these facilities. This position may involve being on standby and working shiftwork is required.QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of 4 years of experience in ice making is required. The following vocational qualifications are also required for the position:
- Building Operation Level I & II;
- Standard First Aid/CPR-C and AED;
- A valid NWT Class 5 drivers license; and
- One of the following:
- Certified Ice Technician (ORFA)
- Ice Facility Operator (BC)
- Western Facility Operator Master Certificate (AB)
In order to maintain facilities and implement preventative maintenance plans, the incumbent must be able to troubleshoot and make decisions, to act independently and to be mechanically inclined. The work requires the ability to comprehend complex instructions, complete records and prioritize work.
