Job description: Upper Canada Child Care – “A smile on each child’s face…every day.”We are currently recruiting for a dual position of Assistant Educator & Accommodation Support Facilitator to join our Team in Newmarket at the following location: Rogers PS.– Accommodation Support Facilitator: $19.55/hour– Assistant: $19.61 – $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).*Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.Position Type & Required Availability:

  • Accommodation Support Facilitator – Part-time (15 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a 3-hour shift.
  • Assistant Educator – Casual Supply status (variable hours): Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 5 assigned shifts every month.

We believe that we set the stage for our children’s success when we foster the foundations of belonging, well-being, engagement and expression in our programs.POSITION SUMMARYTo assist the teachers in program delivery ensuring operational requirements are met in compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures. The overarching goal is to enhance the classroom ratio and provide an inclusive environment through ongoing collaboration and communication. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
  • Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation.
  • Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
  • Basic understanding of special needs and knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, caregivers and other professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in an effective, professional manner.
  • Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
  • Performs general housekeeping and classroom duties for children aged 0-12 years (e.g. meal/snack preparation, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc).
  • Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.
