Key responsibilities include delivering training, coaching, and motivation to team members, as well as supporting positive labour relations and fostering a collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate is a passionate advocate for Hyatt’s values and our culture of care, inspiring others to embody these principles. In collaboration with the HR team, the Assistant Director takes an active lead in enhancing the employee value proposition through areas such as growth and development, rewards and recognition, wellbeing, and DEI. - Excellent interpersonal and coaching abilities
- Sound experience working with Unions
- Thorough understanding of collective agreements
- Recruitment and onboarding experience
- Experience in a dynamic, resourceful, and proactive talent & culture leadership role, with a proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and make sound decisions
- 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely
- Ability to promote and foster a consultative, problem-solving approach to labour relations with Leaders, Union partners, and Colleagues, providing guidance on collective agreements, labour laws, and policies
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, health and safety, and training and development
- Previous hotel experience is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and general computer applications
