Job description: Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking a certified Aquatic Instructor II / Lifeguard who will be responsible for ensuring patrons have an enjoyable and safe experience while participating in our registered and drop-in programs.The successful candidate is responsible for following expectations and guidelines set by Canadian Red Cross, Lifesaving Society and Saanich protocols and procedures. In a professional and responsible manner, the Aquatic Instructor II/Lifeguard will lead activities, games and events of interest, perform hosting duties, ensure that patrons act in accordance to facility rules, ensure the equipment is in safe working condition and contribute to a positive team environment.Requirements include completion of Grade 10; current Lifesaving society swim instructor award; current National Lifeguard Pool Option certification; current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification – Level C with AED certification; current BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification; over three months experience and a satisfactory police information check with vulnerable sector check(PIC-VS).The successful candidate will be required to work varying shifts evenings and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).In addition to the interview process, testing will be conducted.
