Job description: This is an excellent opportunity to join an established developer / builder in a permanent capacity in a Customer Service / PDI / Tarion Management position. The successful candidate will be integral in overseeing PDI’s and Customer Aftercare in accordance with Tarion guidelines, for multiple phases of low rise residential project development across the Muskoka’s and South Western ON.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborates and assists the Construction Manager with all aspects of warranty administration.
  • Controls customer experience via scheduling service appointments.
  • Responds to calls and e-mails during regular business hours and ensures follow-up and resolution for customers, trade associates and the warranty team.
  • Schedules and coordinates the various appointments with the Homeowner, Tarion inspector, Service Technician, and Trades.
  • Ensure good relations and communication between all stakeholders.
  • Conduct the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process with site construction team.
  • Ensuring warranty forms are completed within the deadlines.
  • Monitors warranty forms through the Tarion Builder Link portal daily.
  • Prepares service documents for the department and service use.
  • Explains warranty policies and procedures.
  • Inputs and tracks warranty activities in the software system to enable accurate review of data.
  • Creates and maintains tracking lists to manage warranty staff and trade performance as well as overall warranty performance.
  • Prepares forms required for PDIs such as Certificate of Completion and Possession.
  • Visit sites and proactive follow-up with Homeowners and Trades.
  • Report to Construction Manager on identifying potential issues and resolving problems.
  • Willing to accept training, learn new skills while motivated to continually build knowledge as well as sharing expertise with others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years equivalent work experience with a Developer in the Customer Service field.
  • Knowledge of the building industry and company operations.
  • Expertise in Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines, including all updates.
  • Sound knowledge of Tarion deadlines for warranties.
  • Great knowledge of the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act.
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel and/or commute to the sites.

Our client is an established developer / builder dedicated to low and mid rise residential building projects across Ontario and Western Canada. The organization is currently looking to secure an experienced Customer Service Professional with expertise managing the PDI / aftercare and Tarion process in low rise residential construction. This is a permanent role, dedicated which will split its time between Markham, ON head office, and projects in the Muskoka’s and South Western ON.Competitive compensation package including:
