Verification of Indigenous Membership/Citizenship at the University of Saskatchewan is led and determined by the deybwewin | taapwaywin | tapwewin: Indigenous Truth policy and Standing Committee in accordance with the processes developed to enact the policy. is a condition of employment and a requirement to hold this position and the successful candidate must maintain those conditions throughout their employment.Primary Purpose: The primary goal of this position is to manage and coordinate the ILC operational activities; to manage and coordinate ILC initiatives through the USask policies and procedures; to cultivate relationships; and to support and contribute positively to all ILC objectives.Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director of Administration, this position works closely with the ILC Academic Director, Cultural Advisors and others, is an integral part of the ILC and plays a critical role in maneuvering through the various USask policies and procedures. The incumbent will establish and maintain professional relationships with various constituents such as the Indigenous community, students, faculty, staff, and the external community, both provincially, nationally and internationally. The position requires the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing deadlines and multiple tasks. Discretion and judgement must be used to make decisions, set priorities and determine a strategic approach. The coordinator will work independently and collaboratively with the ILC members as well as the leadership team for the College. Some travel may be required, and it is expected that some irregular hours will be required to carry out specific assignments.Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

  • Manage daily operational activities, programming, events, workshops, seminars, etc. for the ILC
  • Research, prepare, write, and maintain funding agreements that will support ILC programs
  • Work closely with the ILC Academic Director and Law faculty to prepare documentation and to manage processes for approval of programming
  • Manage ILC programming including establishing guidelines, procedures, funding, etc
  • Prepare financial forecast and budgeting for ILC programming and other initiatives
  • Work closely with the Cultural Advisors to manage their activities within the ILC
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative and professional working relationships and partnerships with leadership, faculty, staff, students and external community partners
  • Exercise decision-making and problem-solving to ensure priorities and deadlines are met and take initiative to plan for future requirements or changes
  • Prepare and create reports as required
  • Other initiatives as assigned/required.

Education: An undergraduate degree in business or a JD degree. A combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience: A minimum of (5) years of related experience. Demonstrated project management experience is required. Experience working within a post-secondary institution or large enterprise managing multiple processes/projects would be an asset.Skills:
